Every AI visibility number explained where you see it
Drag-to-explain is Proofsource's in-app help. Drag the help knot onto any number, chart or card, such as mention rate, share of voice or a citation count, and a help dock explains what it means, how it is counted and what your own figure says. It is for anyone new to AI visibility, and for the colleagues and clients you share screens with.
Mention rate is how often AI names Driffle when a buyer question does not include your name. It counts answers, not mentions: an answer that names you twice counts once.
- What we know: 81 of 238 answers in the last 7 days named Driffle.
- What we know: ChatGPT named you most often, Perplexity least.
- What we know: the change from last week is inside normal noise.

AI visibility metrics, explained
AI visibility metrics describe how AI engines treat a brand when buyers ask questions. Mention rate is the share of answers that name you. Share of voice is your share of all brand mentions across you and your competitors. Average position is where you appear in the list an answer gives. Citation rate is how often an answer links to your site. Each is a ratio over a set of sampled answers, so the sample size matters as much as the percentage.
These numbers are new to most teams, and they behave differently from SEO rankings. A 40% mention rate from 10 answers is a weak signal; the same rate from 400 answers is firm. A drop can be real or inside normal noise. Without an explanation in context, people either over-react or ignore the number.
Proofsource puts the explanation where the number is. Drag the help knot onto any figure and the help dock tells you what it measures, how Proofsource counted it, and what your own value means, citing your brand's data such as "112 of 232 answers named Driffle". A short tour and a one-time hint show new users how it works.

Questions about Drag-to-explain help
What is the help knot?
It is a small handle on every Proofsource screen. Drag it onto anything you want explained and the help dock opens with a plain explanation.
Does help use my own numbers?
Yes. Help explanations include "What we know" lines built from your brand's data, such as how many answers back a percentage.
Does it explain metrics for ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude and Google AI Overviews?
Yes. Help covers every engine view, and explains how each engine's numbers are counted.
Is help available in my language?
Help text is translated with the rest of the app.
I am an agency client. Who do I contact?
On an agency's Proofsource host, help is written in the agency's name and the help menu lets you contact your agency directly.
How is this different from documentation?
Docs explain a metric in general. Drag-to-explain explains the specific number in front of you, with your own counts, without leaving the screen.
