How does Proofsource measure AI traffic?

Proofsource reads your own data: AI crawler requests from your Cloudflare zone, clicks from Google Search Console, and AI-referred sessions, conversions and revenue from GA4. Crawls are lined up with the answers that cite each page, so you can follow AI from crawl to citation to click.

Which AI crawlers does Proofsource track?

The main AI crawlers and fetchers, including GPTBot, OAI-SearchBot and ChatGPT-User from OpenAI, ClaudeBot and Claude-User from Anthropic, PerplexityBot and Perplexity-User, and others that identify themselves. Each visit is verified against the vendor's published IP ranges or reverse DNS where the vendor publishes one.

Do I need Cloudflare to use AI Traffic?

Crawler analytics reads your Cloudflare zone, so that part needs a site served through Cloudflare and an API token for its zone. AI referral sessions and search clicks come from GA4 and Search Console and work without Cloudflare.

How do I see how much traffic ChatGPT sends to my site?

Connect GA4. Proofsource counts the sessions referred by AI platforms such as chatgpt.com, perplexity.ai and claude.ai, and reports sessions, conversions and revenue by platform.

Is my analytics data safe?

Proofsource only reads. Your Cloudflare API token is stored encrypted and never shown again after you add it, and Google Analytics is connected with read-only access. Nothing is written back to your site or your analytics.
