Proofsource and GitHub: fixes your developers can just merge
Install the Proofsource GitHub App on the repositories you choose and each approved fix lands as a pull request your developers already know how to review. Nothing changes until they merge. A pull request check also warns when a change would remove a sentence that ChatGPT, Perplexity and other engines quote about you.

Why we love GitHub
In the makers' own words, from their own pages. Proofsource builds on it, never around it.
Automation that lives next to the code
GitHub Actions turns a repository into a build, test and deploy pipeline defined in the repo itself, so the workflow is reviewed and versioned like everything else.
From github.comReview as a shared craft
GitHub's pull request reviews give teams a calm, structured place to discuss a change line by line, request edits and approve with confidence before it ships.
From github.comAn assistant inside the editor
Copilot brings AI help into the tools developers already use, from suggestions as they type to chat about the code in front of them.
From github.comHow Proofsource uses GitHub
Opens approved AI visibility fixes as pull requests on your repository and checks every change against what AI quotes.
- Know
Find the sentence AI quotes
Proofsource sees which pages and sentences ChatGPT, Perplexity and the other engines use when they answer questions about your market.
- Act
Draft the fix as real files
The approved fix becomes a change to your repository: the page copy, and when needed the Bing verification file or the Google tag.
- Ship
Open a pull request for your team
The pull request carries the problem, the answers that show it and an answer preview. Your checks run, you preview it, and you can set merge when checks pass.
- Prove
Guard it and measure it
The pull request check comments when a later change removes a quoted sentence, and Proofsource re-asks the questions to show whether the fix moved the answers.
Set up GitHub in 4 steps
Open Integrations and choose GitHub
Under Publish to your site, open the GitHub card and start the guided setup page.
Install the Proofsource GitHub App
Choose the repositories it may touch. This is the preferred route: you control the list and can change it in GitHub at any time.
Or paste a fine-grained token
For a single repository you can instead paste a fine-grained token with Contents and Pull requests read and write.
Pick the repository and merge style
Choose where fixes go and whether to merge when checks pass. Then approve a fix and choose GitHub under Publish to.

Questions about Proofsource and GitHub
What does Proofsource change in my repository?
It opens pull requests on the repositories you allow. It does not push to your main branch, and nothing changes until your developers merge. Typical changes are the page copy for a fix, the Bing verification file or the Google tag.
How do I connect GitHub?
Install the Proofsource GitHub App from the GitHub card and choose repositories. For one repository you can paste a fine-grained token with Contents and Pull requests read and write instead.
What access does it need?
Read and write on contents and pull requests for the repositories you select, and nothing beyond them. Installed through the app you can narrow or remove that list in GitHub at any time.
How do I disconnect or undo?
Uninstall the app or revoke the token in GitHub, or disconnect on the Proofsource card. Any pull request can be reverted like any other, and Proofsource can open the revert for you.
What does the pull request check do?
When a pull request removes a sentence that AI answers quote, the check leaves one comment saying so, with the answer preview of any fix it ships. It helps your team avoid undoing work that is earning citations.
What does Live mean for GitHub?
The GitHub connection is stable and on for every organization. There is no waitlist or badge.
How does it help my AI visibility?
Engines can only quote what is on your site. Pull requests get a fix live through the team that owns the site, and Proofsource then asks the same questions again to see whether engines such as ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Claude now name and cite you.
Does it work with GitLab and Bitbucket?
The pull request check also runs on GitLab merge requests and Bitbucket pull requests. They have their own pages.
