GitHub, GitLab and Bitbucket, connected to your AI visibility
For sites built in code, Proofsource delivers each AI visibility fix as a pull request on GitHub, GitLab or Bitbucket. It finds where your site lives in the repo, writes the change the way your framework expects, posts checks and comments, and never pushes to your main branch. It also warns on any pull request that removes a sentence AI answers quote.

GitHub, GitLab and Bitbucket integration, in short
The facts, ready to quote.
- Code hosts
- GitHub through the Proofsource GitHub App; GitLab and Bitbucket through a repository token.
- Safety
- Opens a pull request and never pushes to the base branch.
- Native changes
- Detects site directories, framework and host so the fix lands the site's own way.
- Feedback on the pull request
- Check runs and comments are posted back on each fix pull request.
- Pull request check
- Warns before merge when a change removes a sentence that AI answers quote word for word.
- Access
- You choose which repositories the GitHub App can reach, and can add more later.
What is a pull request for an AI visibility fix?
Many company sites are not edited in a CMS. They live in a Git repository, built with a framework such as Next.js, Astro or Hugo, and every change goes through a pull request and code review. For those teams, an AI visibility tool that only produces recommendations in a dashboard creates a ticket nobody picks up.
Delivering fixes as pull requests puts the work where engineers already review changes. The fix arrives as a diff with a description of why it matters: which buyer questions your tracked AI engines answer without your brand, and what the change adds. Reviewers can read it, run their checks, preview it and merge it.
Proofsource installs as a GitHub App on the repositories you choose, finds the site's directories and host in the repo, and opens a pull request with the fix. It posts check runs and comments back on the pull request, never pushes to the base branch, and supports GitLab and Bitbucket with the same flow. A separate pull request check protects what already works: when any pull request removes a sentence that AI answers currently quote from your site, Proofsource says so before it merges.
How it works
Connect GitHub, GitLab or Bitbucket so AI visibility fixes arrive as reviewed pull requests and risky changes get flagged.
Install the GitHub App
Choose the repositories Proofsource may open pull requests on. GitLab and Bitbucket connect with a repository token.
Proofsource reads the repo
It finds the site's directories, framework and host, so changes match how the site is built.
A fix arrives as a pull request
Each approved fix becomes a branch and pull request with the reason, the target buyer questions and the diff.
Review, preview and merge
Check runs and comments appear on the pull request. Your team merges it like any other change.
Guard what already works
The pull request check warns when any change removes a sentence AI answers quote from your site.

Who it is for
Review AI visibility work like any change
Fixes arrive as diffs with a reason, in the repository and review flow your team already uses.
Get fixes merged without a ticket
Approve a fix in Proofsource and a ready pull request appears for engineering to merge.
Do not delete what AI quotes
The pull request check catches a rewrite that drops a sentence ChatGPT or Perplexity quotes today.
Ship fixes to client repos safely
Each client grants access to chosen repositories only, and nothing lands on main without their review.
Why it matters
Never pushes to main
Every change is a pull request, so your review rules and checks stay in charge.
Your framework, your conventions
Proofsource reads the repo to place changes where your site expects them.
Protects current wins
Warnings before merge stop a cleanup from removing text that AI answers rely on.
Every merge is measured
Merged fixes are dated, so later answers show whether they worked.

Questions about GitHub, GitLab and Bitbucket integration
Does Proofsource push to my main branch?
No. Proofsource opens a pull request and never pushes to the base branch. Your team reviews and merges it.
Which code hosts are supported?
GitHub through the Proofsource GitHub App, plus GitLab and Bitbucket through a repository token and webhook.
Can I limit which repositories Proofsource sees?
Yes. You choose repositories when you install the GitHub App and can give access to another repository later from Proofsource.
How does Proofsource know where to put the change?
It reads the repository to find the site's directories, framework and host, then writes the fix the way the site is already built.
What is the pull request check?
When any pull request removes a sentence that AI answers currently quote word for word from your site, Proofsource posts a warning on the pull request before it merges.
Does the pull request check use AI credits?
No. It compares the removed sentences with answers Proofsource has already stored, so it runs on every push without new AI calls.
Does this help with every AI engine?
Yes. Fixes target the buyer questions those engines answer without your brand, and merged fixes are measured against their later answers.
How is this different from Profound's repo editing?
Profound's AI Marketer can also edit code in repositories, which is a strong option. Proofsource adds GitLab and Bitbucket support, framework detection, and a pull request check that protects sentences AI already quotes.
