Grant read access
In GA4, open Admin, then Property access management, and add the address we give you with the Viewer role. Viewer can read reports and change nothing.
Get the numbers
Our team reports the sessions, conversions and revenue that ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Gemini, Copilot and other AI assistants send you, platform by platform, next to your AI visibility.
Or see AI traffic in GA4 yourself
This is Google's own report, no Proofsource account needed.
1. Open Traffic acquisition
In GA4, go to Reports, then Acquisition, then Traffic acquisition, and pick your date range.
2. Show Session source
Change the table's first column from the default channel group to Session source, so each referring site has its own row.
3. Filter to AI sources
Click Add filter, choose Session source, set the match type to matches regex and enter .*(chatgpt|openai|perplexity|claude|gemini|copilot).*. Sessions, engagement and key events now show per AI source.

Good to know
- Visits from Google AI Overviews and AI Mode arrive as ordinary Google search traffic, so neither GA4 nor Proofsource can tell them apart.
- Access is read-only: our team reads reports and never changes your GA4 property. Remove the access in GA4 at any time.
- AI assistants are recognized by the site a visit came from, such as chatgpt.com, perplexity.ai, claude.ai, gemini.google.com and copilot.microsoft.com.
How do I connect GA4 to Proofsource?
Book a demo and we set it up with you on the call: you give our team read-only Viewer access to your GA4 property, and we report your AI-referred sessions, conversions and revenue by platform. Google Search Console and Cloudflare you connect yourself in the app.
How do I see how much traffic ChatGPT sends my site?
In GA4, open Reports, Acquisition, Traffic acquisition, switch the first column to Session source and filter it to sources that match chatgpt. ChatGPT visits show under chatgpt.com.
