What Search Console adds
Non-branded reach, per query and page
Clicks, impressions, click-through rate and average position for each query and page, over the last 28 days against the 28 before. It sits on Organic search and in the SEO Search Report.
Branded demand kept apart
Queries that contain your brand name, an alias or your domain count as branded and stay out of the query and page lists, so demand you already have never reads as reach you earned.
Questions ranked by real demand
On Search demand, your Search Console impressions are the first signal behind each buyer question, ahead of AI search volume and Google search volume.
Connect in three steps
1. Sign in with Google
In Proofsource, open Integrations, then Search & analytics, and click Connect Google Search Console. Google asks for read-only access.
2. Choose the site
Pick the Search Console site that belongs to the brand. The one matching your domain is preselected. Click Save and sync: the first sync pulls the last 90 days.
3. Open Organic search
Your non-branded clicks and impressions appear there, and refresh about once a day after that. Each card shows when it last synced.
Good to know
- Search Console publishes two to three days late, so a day with no data shows as a gap, never a zero.
- Clicks Google withholds for privacy cannot be classed as branded or not, so they are shown as their own number.
- Search Console does not report AI Overviews separately, so Proofsource does not match your queries to AI Overviews. AI Overviews are tracked through the answers themselves.
- Connections are per brand. Changing the site replaces that brand's stored search history with the new site's.
Does Proofsource change anything in Search Console?
No. It asks Google for read-only access and only reads search performance for the site you choose. Disconnect on the Integrations page at any time.
Can Search Console show which queries trigger AI Overviews?
No. Search Console folds AI Overview clicks and impressions into ordinary web search results. Proofsource tracks whether AI Overviews name your brand by reading the answers to your buyer questions, and shows Search Console clicks beside that.
