Preview Preview means Shopify publishing is open to Pro plans and above and shows a Preview badge. Today it works for stores that already hold an Admin API token. Shopify now issues access to new stores through apps rather than custom tokens, since January 1, 2026, and installing the Proofsource app from the Shopify App Store is not open to stores yet while the app is in review. Nothing publishes without your approval.

Set up Shopify in 4 steps
Install the Proofsource app
From the Integrations card choose Install the Proofsource Shopify app. It asks for permission to write blog content only. This route opens to stores soon.
Or paste an existing token
If your store already has a custom app, choose I already have an Admin API token and enter the shop domain, the Admin API token, the blog ID and the author name to show.
Approve a fix and preview it
Open a drafted fix, pick Shopify under Publish to, read the preview and publish. Proofsource confirms the article is live.
Hide it any time
Undo hides the article from your store blog, so nothing stays visible that you did not want.

Questions about Proofsource and Shopify
How do I connect my store?
If your store already has a custom app, choose I already have an Admin API token and enter the shop domain, token, blog ID and author name. Otherwise the Install the Proofsource Shopify app route will take over when store installs open.
Why can't I install the app yet?
Installing from the Shopify App Store is held back until the app clears Shopify's review for stores, so the Install the Proofsource Shopify app card is shown but cannot complete yet. Existing token stores are unaffected.
What does Proofsource change when I connect Shopify?
Only what you approve. Proofsource creates a blog article with the fix body, under the blog and author name you chose, after you have seen the preview. It does not touch your products, themes, pages or settings.
Can I undo a page Proofsource published?
Yes. Undo hides the article Proofsource created from your store blog, from the same Publish to screen. The article stays in Shopify as a hidden item, so you can review or delete it there.
What does Preview mean for the Shopify integration?
It means Shopify publishing carries a Preview badge and is open to Pro plans and above. Stores with an existing Admin API token can publish today. The one-click Proofsource app install opens to stores soon, and Shopify now issues new-store access through apps rather than Admin API tokens.
How do I know a Shopify page helped my AI visibility?
Proofsource asks the same buyer questions again on day 7, 14 and 28 after the page went live and shows, engine by engine, whether the AI engines now name or cite you, next to the starting point it recorded before you published.
