ChatGPT shopping tracking, product by product
Proofsource captures the shopping cards ChatGPT shows in its answers and turns them into product rows, so you see which of your products AI recommends and which it leaves out. For Shopify stores (in Preview) it reads your catalog, turns product types into buyer questions and checks which products each engine names. ChatGPT shopping tracking, explained
ChatGPT shopping tracking measures whether your products appear when buyers ask ChatGPT what to buy. For many product questions ChatGPT now shows shopping cards: product images, names, prices and merchants pulled into the answer. Other engines name products in plain text. For a store, being the brand AI mentions is not enough; the question is which product it names, and whether the details are right.
Product visibility behaves differently from brand visibility. AI might recommend your best seller and ignore the rest of your range, or name a product with an old price because your feed and your product page disagree. Tracking at product level shows which lines win, which are missing, and where conflicting data may be holding you back.
Proofsource captures ChatGPT shopping results and the shopping cards shown in answers, and derives product rows from them. For Shopify stores it reads your catalog, writes buyer questions from your product types and checks which products ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Google AI Overviews and other engines (up to 10 in all) name. It compares your shopping feed with your live pages so AI agents see the same product facts everywhere.
