What is an SEO and AI Overview report?
Classic search and AI search now share the same results page. For many queries Google shows an AI Overview above the blue links, and that overview cites a handful of pages. A page can rank third and not be cited, or rank eighth and be the source the overview quotes. Reporting rankings without AI Overview presence misses half the picture, and reporting AI visibility without rankings misses the search demand that still drives most visits.
An SEO and AI Overview report puts both side by side: the keywords your domain ranks for, the position of each, whether the AI Overview for that query cites you, how much search demand sits behind it, and what your own Google Search Console and Analytics say about clicks and visits. It also helps to see the authority of your domain and its backlinks, since engines lean on sources that the wider web already trusts.

Does ranking in Google mean I am cited in the AI Overview?
Not always. A page can rank well and not be cited, or rank lower and be the source the overview quotes. Proofsource shows your rank and AI Overview citation per query so you can see both.
Where does the ranking data come from?
Proofsource reads Google search results for your domain and stores them as snapshots. Each section prints its source, as-of time and the sample it covers.
How is Search Console data used?
When you connect Google Search Console and Analytics, your measured clicks, impressions and visits appear on their own tabs beside the estimated report. Estimates and measured numbers are never mixed.
Why are some rows hidden?
Rows that are off-topic for your brand are filtered out, and the list says how many were hidden. You can show them at any time.
How often can I refresh the report?
Press Refresh to rebuild it in the background, with messages for each stage. The next refresh opens 24 hours later.
What is AI search volume?
It is search volume for questions phrased the way people ask AI assistants, such as full questions rather than short keywords. It helps you size demand for a topic in AI search.
Does the report cover ChatGPT, Perplexity and Claude too?
This report covers Google search and Google AI Overviews. Your answers on up to 10 AI engines, from ChatGPT and Perplexity to Gemini, Copilot and Grok are measured in your AI visibility reports, which sit beside it.
