What is a ChatGPT app for AI visibility?
ChatGPT and Claude can both connect to outside services. In ChatGPT these are apps, in Claude they are connectors. Once connected, the assistant can call the service while it answers you, and some services can draw a small interactive card in the reply.
A ChatGPT app for AI visibility lets you ask about your brand's presence in AI answers from inside the assistant itself. Instead of logging in to a dashboard, you ask "Is my brand mentioned when people ask ChatGPT for the best tool in my category?" and the assistant answers from data Proofsource measured across the engines.
Proofsource builds this on its MCP server with a standard OAuth sign-in. You approve the connection on a Proofsource page that shows what the app may do, pick the workspace it can read, and can revoke it at any time from Settings.

Add Proofsource
In ChatGPT find it in the apps directory, or add it as a custom connector with mcp.proofsource.co/mcp. In Claude, open Customize, then Connectors.
Sign in with your email
A Proofsource window opens. Sign in with an email code or Google. Already signed in? One click.
Approve the connection
The Allow page lists what the app may read and change and lets you pick the workspace it can read.
Ask about your brand
In ChatGPT type @ and pick Proofsource, or just ask. The assistant calls Proofsource and replies with a visibility card.

Questions about ChatGPT and Claude app
Is there a Proofsource app for ChatGPT?
Yes. Add it in ChatGPT from the apps directory, or as a custom connector with https://mcp.proofsource.co/mcp, sign in with your email, then type @ and pick Proofsource to ask about your brand.
Is there a Proofsource connector for Claude?
Yes. In Claude open Customize, then Connectors, and add https://mcp.proofsource.co/mcp. A connector added on claude.ai also works in the Claude desktop app.
Do I need an API key?
No. ChatGPT and Claude connect with a sign-in: an email code or Google, then Allow. API keys are for other MCP clients and your own code.
Which engines does the app report on?
Up to 10 AI engines depending on your plan: ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode, Gemini, Microsoft Copilot, Grok, DeepSeek and Meta AI. The assistant you chat in is your window onto the data; the numbers come from answers Proofsource measured.
Does Proofsource see my conversations?
No. When the assistant calls a Proofsource tool, Proofsource receives only that call's inputs, such as a brand or a question. The rest of the conversation stays with the assistant's maker.
Can I try it without an account?
Yes. Before you sign in, the app can show a worked example report. A new account with a work email can add a brand and start a scan from inside the chat.
What if I belong to more than one workspace?
You pick one on the Allow page, and the connection reads that workspace only. Connect again to switch.
How do I remove access?
In Proofsource, open Settings, then AI agents, and click Revoke next to the app. Removing Proofsource in ChatGPT or Claude also stops it on their side.
