WordPress for AI visibility: crawler visits in, fixes out
Proofsource works with WordPress in two directions. A lightweight plugin, in early access, reports which AI crawlers, such as GPTBot, ClaudeBot and PerplexityBot, read your pages, verified so fake bots do not count. A one-click connect, in beta, lets Proofsource publish approved AI visibility fixes as WordPress pages and roll them back. It is for WordPress site owners, marketers and agencies.

WordPress for AI visibility, in short
The facts, ready to quote.
- Two connections
- A crawler log plugin for AI bot visits (early access), and a publish connection for fix pages (beta).
- Crawlers seen
- GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot and other known AI and search crawlers.
- Fake bots
- Every visit is checked by IP range and reverse DNS, so a fake GPTBot does not count.
- Privacy
- Only crawler visits are stored, briefly, and nothing about human visitors is sent.
- Publishing
- Approved fixes go live as WordPress pages and can be rolled back.
- Connect
- One click through WordPress's own Authorize Application screen, no password typed into Proofsource.
What is a WordPress AI visibility plugin?
AI answer engines learn about your site in two ways: their crawlers read your pages, and their answers cite the pages they trust. A WordPress AI visibility plugin helps with both. It shows whether AI crawlers actually reach your content, and it gives you a fast way to publish the pages that answer buyer questions.
Most WordPress analytics tools ignore bots, so teams cannot see whether GPTBot or ClaudeBot visited the pricing page last week. Server logs hold that data, but most WordPress owners never open them. A plugin that notes crawler visits and sends them to a tool built for AI visibility closes that gap.
Proofsource offers both halves. The Proofsource Crawler Log plugin notes each visit from a known AI or search crawler and sends it to Proofsource every few minutes, where each visit is verified before it counts. The publish connection uses WordPress's own Authorize Application screen, checks the account can publish, and then puts approved fix pages live and can take them back down.

Questions about WordPress for AI visibility
What does the Proofsource WordPress plugin do?
It is in early access. It notes each visit from a known AI or search crawler, such as GPTBot, ClaudeBot or PerplexityBot, and sends those visits to Proofsource every few minutes, where each one is verified before it counts.
Does the plugin track my human visitors?
No. Only crawler visits are stored, in one small table, and they are deleted once sent. Nothing about human visitors is stored or sent.
Why might the plugin show fewer visits than my CDN?
Pages served from a page cache or CDN never reach WordPress, so the plugin's counts are a floor. For full counts, connect your CDN in Proofsource instead.
How does Proofsource publish to WordPress?
You click Connect WordPress and approve an application password named Proofsource on WordPress's own screen. Proofsource checks the account can publish, then puts approved fix pages live.
Can I undo a page Proofsource published?
Yes. A WordPress fix page can be rolled back from Proofsource.
Does this help my brand show up in ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Google AI Overviews and other engines (up to 10 in all)?
It helps on both sides: you see whether their crawlers read your pages, and you publish the pages that answer buyer questions. Proofsource then measures whether answers start to mention or cite you.
Do I need both the plugin and the publish connection?
No. They are independent. Many teams start with the plugin for crawler visits and add publishing later.
How is this different from Otterly's WordPress plugin?
Otterly offers a WordPress plugin among several log connections, which is a solid option. Proofsource pairs its plugin with verified crawler checks and with one-click publishing and rollback of fix pages.
