Proofsource and Wikidata: your facts, filed where AI looks

Nothing to connect and nothing to learn. The Proofsource team adds your brand to Wikidata, with a source behind every statement, and shows each step on a card in your workspace. Then Proofsource keeps asking ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and the other engines whether they now describe you correctly and name you when buyers ask.

Why we love Wikidata

In the makers' own words, from their own pages. Proofsource builds on it, never around it.

Free knowledge anyone can reuse

Wikidata is a free, community-edited, multilingual store of structured facts that feeds Wikipedia and sister projects and that anyone may build on.

From wikidata.org

Open license, no strings

Everything in Wikidata is released under the CC0 public-domain dedication, which is exactly why search engines, assistants and apps can all draw on it without asking.

Many doors to the same data

You can query it with the SPARQL Query Service, read it through the API, or download complete dumps, so a single clean entry reaches a huge range of tools.

How Proofsource uses Wikidata

The Proofsource team adds your brand to Wikidata with sources and shows you every step, so AI has a clean fact record to read.

  1. Know

See what AI says about the entity

Proofsource checks how the engines describe your brand today: name, category, founders, what you sell. Wrong or missing facts show up in the scan.

  2. Act

    The team writes the entry

Our team adds your brand to Wikidata, or corrects the entry that exists, with a cited source behind each statement, following Wikidata's own community rules.

  3. Ship

    Every step shown to you

The Wikidata card in your workspace lists each step as it is done, so you can see what was added, where it was sourced and what is still open.

  4. Prove

    Check whether AI now agrees

Proofsource asks the same buyer questions again over the following weeks and shows whether the engines describe and name you more accurately.

Set up Wikidata in 4 steps

  1. Open Integrations and find Wikidata

It sits in the Directory under Done by our team. There is no Connect button because there is nothing for you to connect.

  2. Tell us it matters for your brand

The team starts from your brand profile and the pages you already own. If a public source is missing for a fact, we tell you what would count.

  3. Watch the steps appear

Each step shows on the card with its sources. You can read along or ignore it; either way the work is on record.

  4. Let the next scan check the result

Your regular scans show whether the engines describe you better. Nothing else is needed from you.

Questions about Proofsource and Wikidata

Do I need to give Proofsource a Wikidata login?

No. The Proofsource team does the work with its own editing account, so there is nothing for you to connect, share or sign in to. You only see the steps on your workspace card.

What does Proofsource actually add to Wikidata?

The team adds or corrects an entry for your brand with facts such as what it is, its website, its category and its founding details, each backed by a public source. We only add what can be sourced, because Wikidata editors remove unsupported claims.

Can every brand get a Wikidata entry?

Wikidata expects an entry to meet its notability policy, which means the brand has to be referenced by serious public sources. The team checks this first and tells you plainly what is missing, rather than adding something that would be deleted.

What does Live mean for Wikidata?

It means the service is open to every workspace today. It is done by people, not by a connector, so the card shows our team's steps instead of a Connect button.

How does this help my AI visibility?

AI engines lean on structured, openly licensed facts to decide what a brand is and when it fits a question. A clean Wikidata record gives them one consistent answer, and Proofsource then asks the engines again to see whether they describe you better.

How do I stop it or see what was done?

Every step is listed on the Wikidata card under Done by our team, with its source. If you want the work to stop, tell the team in your workspace and no further edits are made. Wikidata itself keeps a public history of every edit.

Which AI engines does Proofsource check afterwards?

Up to 10 depending on your plan: ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode, Gemini, Microsoft Copilot, Grok, DeepSeek and Meta AI. The free scan and the trial run four.
