The brand entity profile AI search reads you from

A brand entity profile is the structured picture of who your brand is: its kind, its name, category and competitors, and every link where AI meets it, from your website to an App Store listing or a G2 page. Proofsource builds it for each brand you track, so every question it asks ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Google AI Overviews and the other engines your plan covers is checked against the right company.

What is a brand entity profile?

Search engines and AI answer engines think in entities, not keywords. An entity is a distinct thing with a name, a type and a set of facts that describe it: a company, a product, an app, a place. When ChatGPT or Perplexity writes an answer, it is matching the question to entities it knows and then repeating facts it associates with them. If the engine is unsure which entity a name points to, it may describe a better-known company with a similar name, or leave you out.

A brand entity profile is the record that pins your brand down. It says what kind of brand you are (software, a mobile app, a store, a local business), what you are called, what category you compete in, who your competitors are, and which public links describe you. Those links matter because engines confirm a brand through the pages that talk about it: your own site, your app listing, your review site profiles and your company directories.

Proofsource keeps one such profile for every brand you track. You can start from any link, not only a homepage, and Proofsource reads the public profile behind it. Every answer it collects is then judged against that profile: whether the brand was named, which competitors appeared next to it, and whether the facts said about it are right.

How it works

One brand model built from every link where AI finds you: your site, app listings and public profiles, plus where answers are asked from.

  1. Start from any link

Paste your website, an App Store or Google Play listing, a G2 page or another public profile. Proofsource works out the brand's kind from the link.

  2. Read the public profile

Proofsource reads the public profile behind the link and fills in the brand's name, website, category and the competitors buyers compare it with.

  3. Collect every link where AI finds you

Add your other homes on the web, so mentions of your app, your listing and your site all count as the same brand.

  4. Set where answers are asked from

Record the places your buyers ask from, so questions are put to the engines from the markets that matter to you.

  5. Measure against the profile

Every answer from ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Google AI Overviews and the other engines your plan covers is checked against this profile for mentions, competitors and facts.

Every capability, live today

3 shipped capabilities behind brand entity profile, each in the product now.

Brand profile and any-link model

Each brand has a kind, its name, website, category and competitors, every link where AI finds it, and the places its questions are asked from. Add a brand from a website, an app listing or a public profile; Proofsource uses the profile to judge every answer it collects.

Public profile behind a link

Paste one link and Proofsource reads the public profile behind it, so an app listing or review page can describe your brand too.

Ambiguous name warning

Counts how many entities share your brand name, warning you when the name is ambiguous.

Who it is for

Mobile app founder

Track the app, not just the website

Add the App Store or Google Play listing as the brand's link, so answers that name your app count toward your visibility.

Head of marketing

Stop counting the wrong company

When another business shares part of your name, a clear profile keeps their mentions out of your numbers.

Agency strategist

Set up a new client in minutes

Start each client from whatever link they share and review the profile Proofsource builds before the first scan.

International brand lead

Ask from the right markets

Record where buyers ask from so answers reflect the markets you sell in, not a default location.

Why it matters

Right company, every time

Mentions, claims and competitors are measured against one profile, so look-alike names do not inflate or confuse your numbers.

Every home counts

Your site, app listing and review profiles are all treated as you, which matches how engines actually find brands.

Fast setup from any link

No form to fill: paste one link and review what Proofsource read.

A base for accuracy checks

The same profile is what wrong claims are judged against, so corrections start from facts you approved.

Questions about brand entity profile

What is a brand entity in AI search?

It is the distinct thing an engine thinks your name refers to, with a type and a set of facts. ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Google AI Overviews and the other engines your plan covers match questions to entities, then repeat facts they associate with them.

Why does Proofsource need a profile for my brand?

Every answer is judged against it. The profile tells Proofsource which company counts as you, which competitors to watch and which facts are right, so the numbers describe your brand and not a look-alike.

Can I add a brand that has no website?

Yes. You can start from an app store listing, a review site page or another public profile. Proofsource reads the public profile behind that link and builds the brand from it.

What happens if another company has a similar name?

Answers about a different company with a similar name are left out of your numbers. A clear profile with your links and category is what makes that separation possible.

Can I edit what Proofsource read?

Yes. You review the name, website, category and competitors, and change anything that is not right before it is used.

Does it work with ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Google AI Overviews and the other engines your plan covers?

Yes. The same profile is used for answers from every engine your plan covers.

How is this different from Ahrefs entity grouping?

Ahrefs groups name mentions and URL citations into one entity using its search index. Proofsource builds the entity from the links you give it, including app listings and review profiles, and uses it to check mentions, competitors and facts in every answer.

Does the profile help engines describe me correctly?

The profile itself is for measurement. It is what Proofsource checks claims against, and the fixes it suggests, such as consistent profiles and clear pages, are what help engines describe you correctly.
