Your AI visibility by market and by buyer persona
AI answers change with who is asking and from where. Proofsource asks your buyer questions as a buyer in each country, language or US city you choose, and as each buyer persona you define, then shows mention rate by market on a map and by persona in a table. You see your strongest market, your weakest persona and the fix for it. For brands selling in more than one place or to more than one kind of buyer.
| Market | Mention rate | Named most instead |
|---|---|---|
| United States (English) | 41% | Otter |
| United Kingdom (English) | 33% | Otter |
| Germany (German) | 12% | Fireflies |
| Austin, TX | 38% | Fathom |

AI visibility by market and persona, explained
AI engines tailor answers. ChatGPT asked from Berlin in German may recommend different meeting-notes tools than ChatGPT asked from New York in English. Perplexity's answer for a sales leader can differ from its answer for an IT buyer, because the question and the sources change. A single global visibility number hides those differences.
Market-level visibility asks the same buyer questions as a buyer in each location: country, language and, for the US, city. Persona-level visibility frames questions as specific buyer types. Together they show where you are strong, where competitors win, and where a local or role-specific fix would move the most answers.
In Proofsource you manage buyer locations in Settings and personas on the Personas tab. The Regions tab shows mention rate by market on a map with your strongest market called out, and says plainly when a region has no sampled answers yet. The Personas tab shows mention rate by persona and suggests a fix for the weakest one.

Questions about AI visibility by market and buyer persona
How does Proofsource ask as a buyer in another country?
It sends your buyer questions to each engine pinned to the chosen country, language or US city, so the answer matches what a local buyer would see.
Which engines are covered by market?
Up to 10 AI engines: ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode, Gemini, Microsoft Copilot, Grok, DeepSeek and Meta AI, depending on your plan.
What is a persona?
A buyer type you define, such as sales leader or IT admin. Proofsource frames your questions as that buyer and reports mention rate per persona.
Why does a region say not yet sampled?
It means no answers have been collected for that region yet. Proofsource shows the notice rather than an empty or estimated number.
Can I add US cities?
Yes. Buyer locations can be a country, a language, or a US city.
How is this different from Profound's regions?
Profound tracks a very large set of regions. Proofsource focuses on the markets you choose, including US cities, and pairs persona results with a suggested fix.
Can I track AI visibility in languages other than English?
Yes. Choose the answer language per brand. It defaults from the market you pick and can be changed until the first scan.
Why is the answer language fixed after the first scan?
Changing language mid-stream would mix answers that are not comparable. Fixing it keeps trend lines comparable.
Can I track more than one country for the same brand?
Markets and locations follow your plan. For more markets, add the brand per market or ask about a custom plan.
Do ChatGPT and Perplexity really answer differently by country?
Often, yes. Recommended brands and cited sources change with location and language, which is why the market is part of setup.
