Proofsource and Google Play Console: your app's latest reviews, read-only

Create a read-only service account in your own Google Cloud project, invite it to your app in Play Console, and Proofsource reads the app's own Google Play reviews from the last week. Because the key reaches only apps you granted it, no shared account can ever see another developer's app.

Preview Preview means the connector is open to every workspace on every plan and shows a Preview badge while we widen it. It reads for real; it never changes anything in Play Console.

Why we love Google Play Console

In the makers' own words, from their own pages. Proofsource builds on it, never around it.

Publishing and quality in one console

Play Console groups releases, a Quality section with ratings and reviews, and a Grow section with statistics, so a developer can run an app from one place.

Real two way conversation with users

Play Console shows ratings and individual reviews and lets you post one public reply to each, editable any time, with users notified by push and email.

APIs that let teams automate

The Google Play Developer API automates publishing, store listings and subscriptions, and a Reply to Reviews API fetches reviews and answers them.

How Proofsource uses Google Play Console

Reads your app's own recent Google Play reviews with a read-only service account you create.

  1. Connect

Make a service account you own

Create a service account in your Google Cloud project, download its JSON key, and invite its email in Play Console with View app information for the app.

  2. Read

    Pull the last week's reviews

Proofsource reads the app's own reviews through that account with every rating check your plan includes.

  3. Show

    Reviews next to AI answers

Reviews lists what Play users say beside how engines describe the app.

  4. Prove

See themes fade after a fix

Ship the fix reviewers asked for and watch the same themes drop from reviews and answers.

Set up Google Play Console in 4 steps

  1. Create the service account

In Google Cloud create a service account and download a JSON key for it.

  2. Invite it in Play Console

Under Users and permissions, invite that account's email with the View app information permission for the app.

  3. Paste on the card

In Proofsource open Integrations, Directory, choose Google Play Console, enter the app's package name and paste the whole JSON key.

  4. Disconnect any time

Nothing in Play Console changes. Disconnect on the card and remove the account's invite to be thorough.

Questions about Proofsource and Google Play Console

What does Proofsource change in Play Console?

Nothing. It reads reviews only, and the account has just the View app information permission.

Why do I create the service account myself?

The key is proof you own the app and reaches only apps you granted it. A single shared Proofsource account would let one organization try another developer's package name, so there is none.

How far back does it read?

The app's own reviews from the last week, with each rating check your plan includes.

What does Preview mean?

It is open on every plan with a Preview badge while we widen it.

How do I disconnect?

Disconnect on the card and remove the service account's invite under Users and permissions.

What do I paste?

The app's package name, found in its Play Store link after id=, and the whole JSON key file.

How does this help my AI visibility?

Review themes often show up in how engines describe your app, so reading them together shows what to fix. Proofsource checks up to 10 engines depending on your plan: ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode, Gemini, Microsoft Copilot, Grok, DeepSeek and Meta AI. The free scan and the trial run four of them.
