Always-on AI visibility monitoring, explained
AI visibility monitoring tracks how AI answer engines talk about your brand: whether they mention you, which competitors they name instead, which sources they cite and whether what they say is right. Always-on means the tracking does not depend on someone logging in. AI answers shift every day as engines update and as competitors publish, so a monthly look misses most of what happens.
Proofsource runs that watch as a set of daily, hourly and weekly checks. It asks your buyer questions again on your plan's cadence and makes sure no question is skipped. It re-tests a panel of questions every 12 hours to confirm answers are repeatable, re-scans stored answers for mentions it missed, and audits that every counted mention is supported by the answer text.
Around those answers it watches the things that move them: your own pages, the pages AI cites, competitors' sites, new best-of lists and comparisons, review profiles, Reddit threads and YouTube videos. When something changes in a way that matters, such as a wrong claim, a new competitor page or an engine calling you a different kind of business, it tells you once, in plain words, with what to do next.

Questions about Always-on AI visibility monitoring
How often does Proofsource check AI answers?
Your buyer questions are asked again on your plan's cadence, daily or weekly. Each question is asked once per engine per period, and a daily audit makes sure no question is missed.
Which engines are monitored?
Every engine your plan covers, up to 10 AI engines: ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode, Gemini, Microsoft Copilot, Grok, DeepSeek and Meta AI. The free trial runs four: ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude and Google AI Overviews.
How do I know the numbers are right?
A panel of questions is re-tested every 12 hours to check answers are repeatable, stored answers are re-scanned daily for missed mentions, and a daily audit checks every counted mention is supported by the answer text.
What does Proofsource watch besides AI answers?
Your site (daily audit, crawler readability, AI crawler traffic when connected), competitors' sites, new lists and comparisons, review sites such as G2, Capterra, Trustpilot and Gartner Peer Insights, app store reviews, Reddit threads and the YouTube videos AI cites.
Will I get flooded with alerts?
No. Instant alerts are capped, and everything else arrives in one daily digest. Wrong claims are alerted once and also listed in the digest.
What is a wrong-claim alert?
When an engine's answer or a page it cites says something that contradicts your own facts, Proofsource raises an alert and can draft the correction for you to publish.
Do reports send on their own?
Yes. Scheduled reports are queued every day when due and sent once. A brand's first report is built automatically after its first scan, and white-label client digests are rendered monthly.
How is this different from checking ChatGPT by hand?
A manual check is one answer at one moment. Proofsource asks every question repeatedly across every engine on your plan, checks the results for repeatability, and watches the sources that change the answers.
Do I need to set any of this up?
No. The checks start with your first scan. Connecting Cloudflare adds hourly AI crawler traffic, and choosing pages to watch adds a six-hourly freshness check.
