Questions about Proofsource and Netlify

What does Proofsource read from Netlify?

Only request log lines from the drain: time, visitor address and user agent, path, host, status and referrer. Proofsource keeps AI crawler visits and discards the rest. It cannot see your code, builds or settings.

How do I connect Netlify?

Open Integrations, Crawler sources and pick Netlify. The card shows the endpoint to paste into a log drain in your Netlify site's settings, and tells you when the first logs arrive.

Does Proofsource change anything on my Netlify site?

No. Log drains only send data out. Nothing on Netlify is changed.

Why are logs better than my analytics tool?

AI crawlers do not run the scripts that analytics tools use, so they never appear there. Server logs are the one place their visits are recorded.

How do I disconnect?

Remove the log drain in Netlify. Deliveries stop straight away. Earlier counts remain in your history unless you ask us to delete them.

How does this help my AI visibility?

If a crawler cannot fetch a page, no engine can cite it. Seeing which pages are read, which return errors and which are ignored tells you where to fix first, and Proofsource then checks whether the engines name you.
