Why we love Google sign-in

In the makers' own words, from their own pages. Proofsource builds on it, never around it.

A standard people already trust

Google's OAuth 2.0 supports web, mobile and server apps with one well-documented model, so signing in feels familiar and works the same on every device.

Sign-in that takes one tap

Sign in with Google lets people reach a site with the Google Account they already have and share only the profile details they approve, skipping new passwords altogether.

From developers.google.com

Security people do not have to think about

Google 2-Step Verification adds a second check beyond the password, so the strongest protection comes with the account itself and travels into every app you sign in to.

How Proofsource uses Google sign-in

Sign in to Proofsource with your Google account: one click, no password, no token stored.

  1. Connect

    Pick Continue with Google

On the Proofsource sign-in screen, choose Google. You are sent to Google's own page, where you choose the account and approve.

  2. Read

    Only your email and name

Proofsource reads your email address and profile name to match you to a workspace. It requests no Gmail, Drive or Calendar access when you sign in this way.

  3. Show

    Straight into your workspace

You land on your brands, scans and fixes. First-time people on a company domain with single sign-on are sent through that provider instead.

  4. Prove

    Nothing left behind

Sign-in uses online access and stores no token, so there is nothing to revoke later and no standing permission to your Google data.

Set up Google sign-in in 4 steps

  1. Open the sign-in screen

Go to the Proofsource sign-in page and choose Continue with Google. There is nothing to install or configure.

  2. Choose your Google account

Google shows its own account chooser. Pick the account whose email you use with Proofsource.

  3. Approve email and profile

Google lists exactly what is shared, your email address and basic profile. Approve it once and you are signed in.

  4. Come back any time

Next time, use Google again or ask for an emailed sign-in code. Both lead to the same workspace.

After approval, straight to the Driffle workspace.

What you unlock with Google sign-in

One-click sign-in

Use the Google account you already have, with no new password.

Least access

Only your email and profile name are requested, and no Google token is stored.

Code as a fallback

An emailed sign-in code is always there if you prefer it.

Same account either way

Google and the emailed code are both matched by your email, so you land in the same workspace.

Company single sign-on

If your company domain uses single sign-on, you are sent through that provider instead.

Data connections stay separate

Search Console and Analytics are their own step, with their own permissions you can remove on their own.

Questions about Proofsource and Google sign-in

What does Proofsource see when I sign in with Google?

Your email address and your basic profile name, which Google shares after you approve. Proofsource does not ask for Gmail, Drive, Calendar or any other Google data at sign-in.

Does Proofsource keep a Google token?

No. Sign-in uses online access and stores no token, so there is no standing permission to revoke afterwards.

Is this different from connecting Google Search Console or Analytics?

Yes. Signing in only proves who you are. Connecting Search Console or Analytics is a separate step you choose later, with its own permissions, and it can be removed on its own.

Can I use Google sign-in and an emailed code?

Yes. Both lead to the same account because both are matched by your email address, so you can switch whenever you like.

How does this relate to Google Workspace SSO?

Google sign-in is for one person with a Google account. Workspace SSO is a connection set up by your admin so everyone on your company domain signs in through your Workspace.

What does the Live stage mean?

Google sign-in is available to everyone on the Proofsource sign-in screen.

How does faster sign-in help my AI visibility work?

Fewer barriers mean the people who approve fixes and read reports actually open Proofsource, so gaps found in ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and the other engines get acted on sooner.
